FASHION FILM: ONCE UPON A TIME BY KARL LAGERFELD

By now everyone knows I die for a short fashion film. I'm always so excited when a new one is released and find myself re-watching them again and again. 

This latest piece by Karl Lagerfeld on the history of Coco Chanel and her hats is amusing to watch, mainly because, well it's Coco. I don't however understand why she's British in the film. 

Regardless, it's a fun watch, Keira is just all kinds of fab and you can play the spotting game of how many of Karl's favourite models you can see in the film.

I've never really done a post on the makeup I use and recently have been asked quite a bit about it so I guess now's the time to share my makeup essentials.

FASHION FORWARD - DAY 3 RECAP

I had to miss most of the shows on the last day of FFWD due to work but I managed to make it to see Zayan and Furne One's collections.

 ZAYAN

First up was Zayan's show. Walking into this I knew it was going to be happy, happy galore and that's exactly what we got. Models skipping and dancing down the runway with awesome fishtail braids, funky print t-shirts and tutus. It was every bit Zayan.

 AMATO

The final show I attended was Amato by Furne One, one of the most talented couture designers around. What I loved about the show (aside from the incredible gowns) was it was a proper production. From the intro video that introduced the collection as a circus of good and evil, the oepning and closing gowns, the perfume launchm the ballerina and the closing quote "who are you to think you know the difference between good and evil". It was divine!

 I'm madly in love with this headpiece and have decided I cannot live without it!

After that it was off to the after party, but not before having some fun on the Evian swings.

FASHION FORWARD - THE GOOD THE BAD & THE...

Between the 26th and 29th of April, Dubai's fash pack were on lock down at the Fashion Forward event. Packed with runway shows, talks by industry professionals, cafes, fashion gallery and a pop shop, the 3 days offered a much needed outlet for this crowd.

Day 2 back at Fashion Forward, I ran throught the rain after waiting hours for a taxi to make it in time for one of my favourite designers Ezra. Here's my favourite picks of the shows that took place.

FASHION FORWARD - DAY 1 RECAP

 Day 1 of Fashion forward kicked off with a media brunch in the VIP room, where I may have had a little more to eat than I should've from the delicious selection on display. 

CHANEL LITTLE BLACK JACKET

With the world's tallest building as their backdrop, Chanel created a unique venue to hold their exhibition hosting the portraits of famous celebrities and fashion icons shot by non other than Karl Lagerfeld. The portraits, which are compiled in the book "the Little Black Jacket: Chanel's classics revisited by Karl Lagerlfeld and Carine roitfeld", celebrate the iconic Chanel jacket.

NEW IN: MCQUEEN WRAP BRACELET

 

 Last week I spotted an Alexander McQueen beauty on Matches.com and instantly knew I had to have it. I love the dual colour leather and decided for a change to go for silver hardware since pretty much most of the accessories I buy are in gold.

Matches Fashion recently launched in the Middle East with a little bash hosted by Piter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos which had the most divine display of Peter's design and while I'd love to show you photo evidence I'm going to have to blatantly lie and say I forgot my camera to avoid sharing a photo I don't necessarily like very much. Logical no? They didn't shoot my good side *sigh*

Anyways, apart from the fact that I'm obsessed with this mini skull piece of gorgeousness, I was beyond happy with the ease of purchas and the speed of delivery. And while I'm still an old fashioned girl who enjoys scouring the stores for my next buy, I have to admit clicking a few buttons and having this land on my doorstep in under 48 hours was quite impressive!

LOEWE BEST HANDS OF SPAIN

The Loewe artisans visited Dubai last week to showcase their incredible skills in crafting leather goods, and while sadly I couldn't attend the event, I wanted to share this super cool video that shows just a fraction of what these craftsmen can do.

Also how gorgeous is my new Loewe monogrammed leather notepad? I'm in love!
