LOOK OF THE DAY & HAIR TUTORIAL - ROCKABILLY FUN

I've always been a huge fan of all things retro and vintage and for this tutorial I was inspired to recreate a modern take on the iconic Rosie The Riveter hairstyle. While Rosie was an icon of the late 40's, the style continued into the 50's were barrel rolls and faux bangs were popular hairstyles among the Rockabilly crowd, who were the party-goers, if you will, of the early blues-enfused rock scene of the 50's.

To keep it updated, I've paired it with a super casual outfit, colourful heels to match my bandana and a small clutch, which isn't exactly ideal if you're phone's as big as mine, but hey it looked good.

Watch above to see how I created this look and check out the outfit details below.
(PS: excuse the ultimate stink face I make when teasing my hair haha)

TURKUAZ HOUSE SALON & SPA

Last Thursday I got all glamed up for the opening party of The White room, courtesy of the lovely team at Turkuaz Salon & Spa.

Located on Al Wasl Road, this 2 floor villa is a wonderland of beauty and has the most amazingly trained staff. From hair, to makeup to my nails, I loved all the services. I cant wait to go back to try out their Turkish Hammam to get my skin ready for a new tanning season.

Check out some of the photos I snapped below and be sure to check out their Facebook page for all the services.

LOOK OF THE DAY & HAIR TUTORIAL - DENIM & PRINT

As you guys know, I'm taking part in this cool project by Sunsilk, which allows me to share my hair, makeup and style tips.

Here's one of my first videos, in this look I created an easy updo using day old curls for a casual day out out. I styled my look with a super chill outfit for the mall and threw on a pair of heels to make it work for late lunch as well. I love mixing up high street pieces to create my looks, my ultimate styling tip is not to be a victim to price tags!

FRAGRANCE REVIEW: MARC JACOBS DAISY SUNSHINE & EAU SO FRESH SUNSHINE

How cute do these bottles look?
The latest perfumes from Marc Jacobs are reworks of the original Daisy scents but with a major summery twist. The design of the bottles are super cute, I mean don't you just wanna take those flowers off and wear them?

FASHION FILM: ONCE UPON A TIME BY KARL LAGERFELD

By now everyone knows I die for a short fashion film. I'm always so excited when a new one is released and find myself re-watching them again and again.
This latest piece by Karl Lagerfeld on the history of Coco Chanel and her hats is amusing to watch, mainly because, well it's Coco. I don't however understand why she's British in the film.
Regardless, it's a fun watch, Keira is just all kinds of fab and you can play the spotting game of how many of Karl's favourite models you can see in the film.

FASHION FORWARD - DAY 3 RECAP

I had to miss most of the shows on the last day of FFWD due to work but I managed to make it to see Zayan and Furne One's collections.
 ZAYAN
First up was Zayan's show. Walking into this I knew it was going to be happy, happy galore and that's exactly what we got. Models skipping and dancing down the runway with awesome fishtail braids, funky print t-shirts and tutus. It was every bit Zayan.
 AMATO
The final show I attended was Amato by Furne One, one of the most talented couture designers around. What I loved about the show (aside from the incredible gowns) was it was a proper production. From the intro video that introduced the collection as a circus of good and evil, the oepning and closing gowns, the perfume launchm the ballerina and the closing quote "who are you to think you know the difference between good and evil". It was divine!
I'm madly in love with this headpiece and have decided I cannot live without it!

After that it was off to the after party, but not before having some fun on the Evian swings.
